This 2016 workshop is now sold out; you can register for the 2017 workshop.
During the workshop we will cover a number of locations to give photographers a sense for Kyoto. It would be impossible to summarize in a single trip. Even after four years of working in Japan, it feels like we are just scratching the surface. The aim is to give you a sampling of locations and subjects ranging from the well known sites to the less visited areas that we have found over the years.
Aside from Kyoto’s temples and gardens, the city has a rich collection of craftsmen making their mark on the international design world. Their work can be found from five star hotels to the tea rooms of the Geisha and tea masters. We will visit one of their workshops for a private shoot, so you can see, first hand, what lies below the surface of Japanese traditions.
